On the 1st Day of Christmas

Hi Everyone

It’s been a while since my last post…life has been very hectic of late.

I love Christmas time with children…their excitement and enthusiasm is wonderful to be a part of.  I think it is one of those times of year that a little Christmas Craft that may not be so play based never hurt. (Oh dear, many play-based gurus are rolling their eyes at me right now!)

So in the spirit of giving and as a little Christmas gift for all my loyal followers and members, this year, I thought I would have a little fun and do a post a day for the next 12 days called “The 12 Days of Christmas”.

Each day I will post a Christmas experience/idea for everyone to try…members this will be planned (with all E.Y.L.F links etc.) in full for you under the Christmas area on the website.

Here we go…Please sing the next bit to the tune of the 12 days of Christmas…

On the first day of Christmas, Rose3 gave to me…

Hand Painted Christmas Baubles

Fully planned for members at Rose3….”

Hand Painted Christmas Baubles

Encourage children to put their name on baubles first.

Let children choose the way they wish to apply paint to their hands: pressing their hand in, brush or roller painting.

(My children wanted to try painting directly on the bauble as well.)

Once the child has painted their hand, they hold the bauble by the string and grab the bottom of the bauble with their painted hand, pressing their hand and fingers gently around bauble.  Hang to dry.

After paint has dried, look at patterns made, draw eyes and mouths on ones that look like snowmen with sharpies and other decorative details.

Have fun:  This Christmas experience is full planned for members, look under Christmas in the member’s area.

(and once given permission to paint on yourself…it can go a little further than the hands!!!)
